And today we come to the last fic in this round of the Narnia Fic Exchange! It’s I love not man the less, but nature more, and it’s a fantastic story about the Pevensies in the first year of their reign, and the Narnian ceremonies that make them true Kings and Queens of Narnia:
It had been a trying day. Too cold for spring, too warm for snow, but just right for mud. They were confident that this first true Spring was coming. They could all feel the creeping warmth in the ground and the softness in the air, and see the longer, brighter days. Still, there was a restive fretfulness in the Narnians, particularly among the Talking Beasts and the Beings of the Wood – the Fauns, the Satyrs, and the evergreen Dryads who were awake all Winter.

Here are the most recent stories posted in the Narnia Fic Exchange:
First we have Proper Narnians All, a Dawn Treader fic, with Edmund acting as mentor to both Eustace and Caspian:
The open sky, blue and cloud-studded, was as welcome to all the Dawn Treader’s crew as the gentle breeze that filled her sails. After so long in the storm, everyone spent as much time on deck as they could manage. Even the time ashore on Dragon Isle had not erased the need for sun and air. So it was not uncommon for Edmund and Caspian to take their meals up onto whatever scrap of deck would not be in the crew’s way.
The appearance of a grumpy Eustace was not uncommon, either. Although he was trying to be better, there were occasional setbacks, and as any commander could tell you, food was morale. “Isn’t there any decent food on board?”
Next is Wanting Home, a look at Susan’s inner journey during the Prince Caspian movie:
She had been happy at first. It was a delight to be back here again, to smell the air of Narnia. It was the first time her heart had felt at peace for months. But it only lasted a moment before the logical part of her began to question things.
And today’s fic is Not Children Anymore, about the Pevensies’ difficult adjustment from Kings and Queens in Narnia to children in England:
Peter struggled. Every day was different. Was hard. How would he continue? He didn’t know if the others struggled like this. Susan seemed so together. So grown up. Lucy was still her normal cheerful self. Maybe that slight sparkle that had belonged to her in Narnia was gone. But generally she was okay. Ed was Ed. Just a politer, nicer version of Ed.
